Up until the afternoon of July 24, 2019 Sam was your normal, average, every day 16 year old beach kid who was a junior at St. Rose High School in Belmar, NJ.  He was a skate -boarder, surfer, Jetski rider, Fortnite player, Altar Server alongside his brother Michael and his sister Molly at St. Teresa of Calcutta Church, and all around good friend.  Like most kids his age he complained when he had to clean the house, empty the dishwasher or take the garbage out but did so after some coaxing.  He was almost ready to take his driver's test and get his drivers licence.

That all changed in an instant.

At about 3:15pm on July 24, 2019 Ocean Grove, New Jersey Lifeguard Sam Jarmer sustained a severe spinal cord injury after diving into the ocean and hitting a sandbar - leaving him paralyzed from the chest down..

Sam,his family, and YOU are on the road to his recovery. Join Sam's journey.

Sam's mom Jessica said it best:

"To everyone wearing a #SAMvincible shirt, sharing one of his updates or flying a flag, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏🏻The prayers and positive energy for Sam have kept him positive and motivated. He wants to walk, not just for himself, but for everyone who believes in him. You are all making a huge difference in his recovery❤️"
